The Oak Hill boys played a great game against Blackford. Caleb Middlesworth went over the thousand point mark after scoring 18 points. Spencer Ballinger was the top scorer for the Oak Hill Eagles after scoring 37 points.
“It’s probably one of our better efforts for the entire season,” coach Kevin Renbarger said. “We really played well on both ends of the floor.”
While the Bruins did have a key player out with an injury, Oak Hill still played strong throughout the game. Showing some well practiced plays, the boys were able to hold a lead against Blackford from the first quarter until the end.
“I think we put together a real good game,” Middlesworth said. “The last couple practices have been going real well. I think today was a good game.”
The stands were full Friday night at Oak Hill since it was also the alumni night for the Oak Hill pep band. Not only were there current band members playing, but also former band members as well.
It was also the night of the annual cheer clinic. During halftime, there were 106 potential future Oak Hill cheerleaders on the floor. The girls performed a choreographed dance they had learned earlier in the week.
A local dance team also performed during halftime. The team included students both from Oak Hill and other schools.
Oak Hill fans showed their support Friday night and shared in excitement with the team. The gymnasium was filled with cheers throughout the night.
Their next game will be Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Oak Hill High School. The Eagles will be facing the Tipton Blue Devils.
