Marion Public Library Hosts Bob Ross Instructor

Marion Public Library hosted a painting class taught by a certified Bob Ross instructor.

Teresa Boucher, and her husband Mike Boucher, have been teaching how to paint in Bob Ross style across Northern and Central Indiana since 2015.

“Every time I paint. I leave with a sense of satisfaction, that wow, maybe it’ll change somebody’s thoughts or maybe change somebody’s opinion,” Teresa Boucher said.

Those attending this event had the opportunity to paint a shoreline with rolling waves.

Patty Painter heard about the event from her daughter and decided to attend with her grandchildren.

“It was awesome. I’ve actually done a Bod Ross at a different site. But this one we got
more one on one assistance,” Painter said.

This is Bouchers second time at Marion Public Library, having come here last fall. Barbara Dixon, head of reference at Marion Public Library, contacted Teresa Boucher and helps organize other activities.

The library holds many activities regularly including garden club, kid’s programs, Dungeons and Dragons, and a craft program.

“We do more than just books,” Dixon said.

Marion residents have access to these programs and various resources provided by the library.

Dixon said they have been successful in drawing more people to the library with these events and hopes the eclipse on April 8 will bring more.

“Everybody’s welcomed. Because people think, well, if I don’t live here, I can’t come in,” Dixon said. “You can and even if you don’t have a library card, there’s still other stuff to do.”
